Where Roots Find Life
A quiet morning at the Bogor Botanical Gardens became a gentle reminder that the strongest growth often begins where no one can see it. Through nature, this journal reflects on unseen seasons, quiet courage, and the beauty of growing deeper before growing taller.
Bogor Botanical Gardens
I wasn't planning to write today.
Actually, I just wanted to go for another long run.
I've been to the Bogor Botanical Gardens many times, so I thought today would be just another ordinary morning.
Apparently, it wasn't.
I stopped by the river for a few minutes.
I've walked past this river so many times before, but today I noticed something that made me pause.
Most of the oldest trees were growing close to the water.
I actually laughed to myself.
"How did I never notice this before?"
I stood there longer than I expected.
The more I looked at those trees, the more curious I became.
Some of them have probably been standing there for over a hundred years.
Maybe they were already here when I was born.
Then another thought came.
Every one of them started as a seed.
Not a tree.
Not even a little tree.
Just... a seed.
I couldn't stop thinking about that on my way home.
What happened between the seed and the tree?
When I arrived home, I made myself a cup of coffee.
The question was still there.
Maybe the answer isn't above the ground.
Maybe the answer is underneath it.
Maybe the roots are the real story.
...
A Quiet Reflection
I think that's why this journal feels personal to me.
Nafisa Living hasn't even launched yet.
As I'm writing this, I honestly don't know what will happen.
Some days I'm full of confidence.
Other days I'm full of questions.
Today happens to be one of those questioning days.
But the seed reminded me of something.
It never knows what kind of tree it will become.
It simply begins.
Maybe that's where I am today.
Still beginning.
